Flying with poles

I'm going skiing abroad and i plan to buy skis and bindings when i'm over there. I don't know what to do about my poles though. They're nothing special, its just kind of a hassle to take poles when you don't have a ski bag to put them in.

Probably more expensive to get them on the plane then it is to buy new poles, and you'll probably get them back bent if you did try to bring them.

just go for it and bring them on the plane, chances are no one would say anything. if that doesn't work you can always just buy new ones when you get there if that isnt an issue for you

A lot of resorts will lend you old beat up poles for free. My hill does it, resorts in Utah do it, sun valley does it. Hills that have a lot of tourist usually just loan a pair of poopy poles cuz a lot of people forgot them or didn't want to pack them.

Also sorry for the double post but when I saw the title of the thread I thought you were some gaper who wanted to make poles that could make you fly once you got in the air after a jump hahaha. Don't know why I thought that but I did hahaha.

it will cost you the same to bring poles (checked luggage) as it will to bring skis and poles. you're better off buying a cheap set when you get there
