Fly Fishing the Provo

Whattup guys,

I'm roadtripping with my roommate and some buddies for spring break. Skiing Vail, then hitting up Park City, and most likely gonna fish at least a day.

Does anyone have experience on the Provo River? Particularly the Upper through Victory Ranch, or whatever section heads through Heber/Midway.

Do's/ Don't's, go to patterns, sections to check out.

Any input would be dope

Think small. 6-7x, side 18-22. Sow bugs on the lower, zebra midge. Black gnats.

Its full fledged winter conditions even though it warmed up a little. If you go way south towards Provo you may find some blue wing hatches. Again think small af

The smartest way to fish the Provo if you're not used to it is to visit a fly shop and get suggestions, go from there

Also since its not the busy season on the Provo, the middle section below Jordanelle Res. Is pretty dope. Still though, If you see more than two cars parked at the access point then just keep driving

I don't fish but im always in awe of provo canyon every time I drive thru it. I hear its a rad river to fish but does get pretty busy if youre looking for low-key fishing spots.

feb 25 the utah supreme court granted a stay of Judge Pullan nov stream access

ruling

and victory ranch and all private waters are no longer public access again

we been fighting over 5 years now and eventually we will prevail with a pubic stream access law similar to Montanans

please respect private property do not give the landowners ammunition against our cause

consider donating to the usac and sport a sticker

Wait does this mean that Public Access Points across Utah are no more? Not even the old system of registering for a Pub Access Numbers?
