Fly Fisherman: Favorite summertime rig?

I know I'm not the only skier who indulges in fly fishing on here. Whats your go-to setup when you're heading to the river? I've been having a lot of success lately using a fuzzy wuzzy above a baetis nymph or a copper john. elk haired caddis of course have been working really well too.

Whats everyone else been tossin out there this summer?

I have a guy that will teach me once we have time, which will be this weekend or the next one. I have been looking forward to this for a while actually. I could go for some tips/vids if you guys got any.

Regular fishing has always been way too boring for me...

I taught myself last summer and ive probably gone at least once a week ever since and just about everyday for at least an hour or two this summer. It took like 3 weeks of total frustration and I'm nowhere near mastering the sport but I can show up to a spot and expect to catch a couple fish now. I got this orvis complete guide to fly fishing book which was super helpful ($16 on Amazon).

Haven’t fished much this summer with work and skiing. Every time I go right before sun set and catch the bates hatch and run small cream mayflie or dun. Been a lot of fun mostly bows bummed this a lot of white fish this summer.

i like to throw crayfish leechy flies with the 8 weight on 0x to the big poopfish watch em eat it and put the big bend in the whippy sticks into the backings

I've been having good luck with emergers. Last night, I stayed up trying to tie some of my own with random yellow hackle and my Australian Shepherd's fur. I'll let ya know how it goes.

Near me there are even carp tournaments with prizes for most carp killed. Catch and release is not kosher for this species (technically four species) in the US.

Secondly, stop writing in a better-than-thou manner. You criticize folks for being yuppies with trendy gear...yet look who has the overpriced fan-boy Yeti cooler. You post your crappy LOOK-AT-ME trip reports on TGR. Please keep them there. Fly fishermen who look down on other anglers suck. Those who fish for one species and look down on others who choose to angle for a different species suck. Those who post just for praise while bashing all others suck. You exemplify most/all of these.
