Flips

i don’t have everyday access to a tramp but a few of my friends have them. ngl i can’t even land a frontflip or side flip but what are the first 5 or so flips i should learn? i tried side flip off a dock twice today but i opened up to early and landed on my back. i need the confidence for next season to attempt some stuff. i remember about a year ago someone on here told me to learn misty 5 first. anyways hoping to be able to flip off more than a dock this year and do actual cliffs

Misty 5 was the first one I learned after front flip. But I think it would be most beneficial to learn backflips and flat3s/rodeo 5s since those would probably be the first ones that you'd do on snow.

easiest is jumping off a dock or cliff and doing a misty 5 cause you bounce right into the flip and get to spot the landing really early. just pop hard, throw your shoulder down toward your opposite hip, and look for the landing

fronts are easy too but blind landing makes them a bit tougher, prob should learn that after misty 5

backflip off the dock is easy and safe too. just stand backwards on the edge, pop up and hard, and bring your knees to your chest and get those hips around. you get to spot the landing like almost instantly. only risk is hitting the dock of course, so to be safe make sure you pop up and away from the dock. landing weird in the water is no worry compared to hitting your head on a dock

backy is the best to learn probably because that will likely be the easiest first flip on snow for you. but just like on snow, do whichever one you can truly visualize yourself doing. some people hate front flips, some people are scared of backies, we're all different

the BEST flip on diving boards and cliffs is the front flip and a half though (land in a dive ofc). put that on your long-term agenda, they're fun as hell and people love em

i can do fronts on a tramp easy but cant do a backflip for the life of me so my goal this summer is to figure backflips out. probably just mental at this point

yall think its easier on a tramp or into a pool?

pool to learn it-- no consequences as long as you jump out enough to not risk hitting the side but that's easy

so much easier than fronts dude, do what you need to to get over that (common) fear and then you'll be like oh this is dope, i can spot my landing like immediately
