It's his 3rd post man, easy does it.

There is a search bar at the top of the page and I'm sure if you do some searches you'll come up with some good threads with a lot of good advice. There's also a "Trick tips" cult if you go to Community and then Cults.

Make sure you can do the trick anywhere else first. Then when you feel like you can do it, find a good jump and commit. dont decide that you dont want to do it in the middle of the flip.

backflips are easier than 360s frontflips are decently hard and flats are easy too but there is many threads of this

thats what ive heard but idk...backflips scare me...i want to build a jump in the "backcountry" and throw one but i live in the midwest...real backcountry is a few thousand miles form here...

SO.

I tried my first flip this weekend, a lincoln loop or a side flip I can't tell, I haven't seen it. It's a trick that I could do on a tramp. All the snow was pretty soft that day and the big park was closed so I tried it in the baby park, kinda lame. Since the jumps were so little, I figured it was the best flip. It realy is, I had so little airtime and I've been able to pull it of.

So first, try to fall on the jump you're about to flip on. I know it sounds wack but it just boosted my confidence knowing that falling doesn't hurt that bad. After that hike the jump and think about your trick. BUT as soon as you get on top of the hill, don't think about it or you'll pussy out, just go for it. A full commitement is required and, between me and you, if you're trying this on a little jump, the worst that can happen is you fall on your back (if you do a lincoln).

It doesn't feel wierd throwing a flip on skis. the fact that you go forward while flipping doesn't change anything, not like I thought it will. And flipping with skis on your feet is apparent to flipping with your shoes on a tramp. It changes some things but it's not that much of a deal.

So yeah go for it and when you'll land it, you'll be stoked as hell trust me :)

Try a backflip first, but make sure you can do it on a trampoline, off objects such as benches and curbs, and depending on how big the jump is, being able to do it off the ground would probably help too. I'm sure given enough time and attempts, you'd be able to get it on skis without being able to do it on a tramp or anything, but I would hate to be the guy that says "fuck it and huck it" and then have you make a thread a week from now saying how you hurt your back.
So other than that, good luck and be smart.
