I am so sick of trying to dertermine what a trick was there are 50 differnt names for the flippy spinny tricks....i hate it...they should just be corked, inverted, or staight...thats it...done

I completely disagree. I think the problem is in people starting these 'new' tricks like the crucial spin (no offense to jeff but it is a d spin) or the risky flip (d spin to backflip) etc.

It's really easy to determine what a trick is. just different people have diffferent style and ways of doing things. a different style on a trick can't mean a new name.

A trick shouldnt have its own name unless it is a truly unique rotation, like a rodeo, flatspin, misty, D-Spin, these are completely unique, while variaions of these, like the 'Risky Flip' D-Spin to Backflip, should just be called what they are, Dspin to Backflip, its not unique, just two tricks done one after the other.

Now Jeff Thomas's Crucial Spin is more like a corked3 to lincoln instead of the dspin's cork3 to back type rotation so it does deserve its own name. As does the Underflip... im too tired right now to think of anymore examples, someone back me up here...

i think switch rodeos are swtich misty's instead and vice versa. It just makes more sense that way since you are throwing your body into a misty, not a rodeo.

yes, exactly. the switch misty and rodeo should be visa versa.the switch rodeo is clearly the looks of a misty the way the person throws it, and same with the switch misty.

the worst is the fucking dinner roll...oh my god, so he hypes up his dinner roll for the olympics...and does a corked 7 and still says its his signiture 'dinner roll' so now a term that rarely gets used is gonna be used a lot when u see peopel throwing corked tricks...damn, also when people say Im gonna work on 'my' whatever the trick is...thats gay

Atleast he threw it, no matter what it's called. I worry more about how it looks then what its called. If I don't know the name I just say what it looks like. Works for me

this arguement is way to played out (the switch rodeo thing, and the dinner roll thing)... just give it up, you can't change anything.

I dont know, sometimes i just think that eveything is way to complicated in skiing,but its a good thing leaves room for more progression so were not doing some of the same tricks over over over again.

 
about the dinner roll

i don't think you can get on Moseley for that cuz he is the one of the only new schoolers bring the scene into an old school event. I don't care what he called it, it was great for skiing and that's all that matters

 
If it's upside down it's corked, leaning to the side bio, and a barrel roll is a lincoln loop. That's basically the way I look at most stuff. Other flips are basically just variations on this stuff.

 
a few rules to help things stay clear in the future:

1. if you don´t know, don´t say.

2. don´t make up names for combinations(like flair to front/venus flytrap).

3. stick to the norm of naming tricks, dont name it the way YOU think it should be named.

by the way the c-spin isn´t a d-spin. it´s a misty with an early twist and tons of style.

what´s so funny about peace, love and understanding?
