Flights

tomorrow and southwest lets you pick your seats. where is the best place to sit? front middle or back? obviously the window seat..

Find the cheapest on a airline comparing website, then look up that exact flight on the airlines private booking site, chances are it will be anywhere from 10 to 20% cheaper.

Those comparison sites need money to run.

I should have just started a new thread. +K to you guys for future reference but my flights already booked:)

Generally I find the opposite to be true.

Just use a fuckload of different sites. Choose different dates to see what might be cheapest (mid-week is generally the best). Blah blah blah.

I tend to always sit in the very back. On long flights the crew usually hook it up way more since you're right next to the galley. Also, when the plane gets to the gate, everybody stands up (still not sure why), so you can just sit the fuck back and watch the idiocy.

It isn't.

I know a guy who owns a company that has a couple of sites like that, almost all their revenue comes from the extra service costs that they charge, that's how the system works.

I just checked for a random flight:

Random tickets site: 1053,56 euros for a KLM flight

KLM's own site exact same specs: 973,00 euros.

i think he said he's flying southwest, and they do some kind of free-boarding type deal where you aren't assigned a seat.

the best place to sit is in the emergency exit rows. they have more leg room than the other rows. doesn't matter if you're flying first class, of course, but if you're flying coach those extra few inches are nice to have.

It its first come first serve type thing with Southwest. You get there first and check in at the gate and you board first. Its weird.

yeah it was kinda weird but hey, there were only 60 people on my flight, I got a window seat AND the whole row to myself. not a bad first flight experience.
