flares and 540 in the pipe

fives are so easy, you dont even need to air them out to learn them. just go up and spin it, and as you get better work on spinnin slower and going bigger. flairs i cant help you with cuz every pipe around here is solid ice

flares are butter. not hard at all. make sure you can do flares/underflips off of diving boards or on trampolines first. but drop in with enough speed to go as high as you said you can, look straight at the spot in which you will be hitting the lip so you can pop and spin at the right time. make sure NOT to throw too early or you will smake your head on the wall or land on the deck. just make sure to commit to the trick. you'll be able to see your landing for like 3/4 of the trick and you'll realize it's super easy. the first ones the hardest one, after that it will just get easier and easier.

 
I'm confused about flares, back in the day when everyone started doing them they were basically a back half but then everyone started doing them all barrel roll/lincoln styles. Which style are you referring to and would anyone care to explain the execution (and rotation) of flares?

you don't hit the lip straight on, cuz you wanna gather ure speed. ure kinda at an angle. You should never land the same place u took off. So a flare is basically when u hit the lip of the pipe, hopefully on ure natty side(for lincolns anyways), drop ure shoulder down, and a little bit back as well. when u drop ure shoulder back, it makes it easier to allign ureself with the landing. Thats pretty much it.

i guess it just depends on which way you prefer line69, one of my friends that i ride with does some pretty sick flairs that are almost like an underflip more than a flair, but i prefer the more straight up flair
