FKS Toe Piece "Splits" When Clipped In?

Lick

Okay, so I finally got myself some FKS this year after tearing apart cheaper bindings every other season. Anyway, I took them to my shop to be mounted, and if I'm being honest, although they know what they're doing, the probably have not seen a pair of FKS come into the shop (ever). I live in a very small community.

So I got the skis and bindings back after the were mounted and stuff, and when I clip in, while it feels solid and everything, the toe piece, where there's a small "slit" down the vertical length of the toe piece, it splits apart a little bit. I don't know if this is supposed to happen, but if somebody could confirm that this is okay to ride on and not a problem, that'd be great!

Thankd!

Hmmm. You must obviously have the FKS140 correct? How much does it slit apart? It could potentially be fine but it is hard to tell without seeing, can you post a picture?

Yes I have the 140, and I'll post a picture and measure how much it splits in about an hour when i get home.. Thanks!

FKS 140 has a plastic toe with "wings" it's meant to do that so a boot with a wider toe can be accommodated. You should be fine.

Awesome, thanks a bunch.

I uploaded the pics just in case, here they are:

Yea, based on those pictures I would say you are totally fine. Just out of curiosity what boots are you using.
