Fixing Dimpled Bases - HELP

I have a pretty good idea but this would be the first time i have attempted a repair like this, so let me know if this sounds about right.

1) unscrew binding

2) use flat metal scraper or LIGHT hammer work to pop dimple back into place.

3) use sander to take 1-2mm off screw.

4) screw binding back into place.

Also someone at the shop said i could use elmers glue when screwing the binding back in for extra hold but i have never heard of this. If true would marine appoxy work better?

Thanks!

If the shop dimpled it, they should fix it for free. In the past when Ive done it, you take the screw out, I grind a mm or two off the head of the screw, reinsert with the appropriate glue. Then I heat the bases up and using a rubber mallet get them as flush as can be. I finish with a stone grind and tune.

I wish i could get the shop to do it trust me but where i live the shops are pathetic. I called them and they seriously said "We don''t even have the equipment to fix that" Also if they are this incompetent i'd rather just learn to do it myself.

Get a large screw driver and grind the tip so it is more blunt and fits securely in the binding screws, get a heat gun/decent hair dryer even maybe, rubber mallet and go to town
