Fit: Salomon Falcon 10 compared to Lange Banshee Pro

So I found that out of the box Salomon Falcon CS Pros fit me well(Falcon 10s are the same as CS Pros for me because I wouldn't mold the shell) and that is currently my top choice for boots. If I end up with those, I will buy some Intuition low volume Comfort Liners(stiffer of the two tongue liners), throw on my boosters and probably get some footbeds(depending on Intuition fit). I was looking for some similar fitting boots to compare them with, and I thought Lange Banshees or Banshee Pros could be good. I know they are very highly reviewed and from what I have been told are awesome boots for low volume feet(like mine). I ski powder when there is any and park when there is not, but unlike park trends I still like stiff boots. I also have flat feet and like footbeds that give me an arch. Thanks for the help anyone, and WHAT DO BANSHEE PROS WEIGH(in a 28.5 if possible), and is a 28.5 Lange going to feel the same width as 28.5 Solly? +k to help from knoledgeable people
 
The falcons have a lower instep, along with a tighter toe box. All around a tighter fit than the banshees. The flex is also much more fluid in my opinion also.
 
good to know. How do you think the stiffness of the two compare?(I have heard Salomon's flex index is stiffer than Lange's).
 
I think that salomons flex easier, but iifc they are a slightly softer flex rating. The banshees do have 2 rivets that can be removed to allow them to flex easier though. Also the clear plastics that the salomon shell uses will not react as severely to cold temps like the lange shell will. I also think the liner in the salomon is much nicer as well. It actually forms quite well, obviously not as well as an ID liner will though.
 
I will be getting Intuitions. I am used to solly liners being pakced out in 5 good days of skiing. thanks for the help, I guess I will try them both. hoping the Langes fit because they are cheaper and stiffer. I do agree that sollys flex very well though.
 
Unless you have next to no instep, id rec not using an insole with the intuition, ive set a few people up with falcons and guns with IDs, and even with a conformable or cork custom, there was waaaaay to much instep pressure.
 
alright, I guess I will get the boots(either Falcons or Banshees, there is a better chance of Falcons, unless Banshees are PERFECT fit) and buy the intuitions, mold them, and then decide if I really need an insole. If I do I can re mold, and if not I save some $. Sound like the safe course to take to you? Also, Intuition Comfort(stiffer of the two tongued intuitions) would be a great choice right? I am not sure what the benifit of wrap-around liners are and I like tongue liners, and the liner Falcon CS Pros comes with fits me perfect, but I know it will pack out.
 
Ive found that yes the falcon liners will pack out, they are already a low volume liner and they wont pack out as much as your average lower end boot. Both the wrap around and the tounge intuition liners are full custom so you can go wrong, I honestly have never seen the full custom traditional ID liners until I just looked them up.
 
are intuitions what you recomend for moldable liners w/tongues? and this^ post is saying everyone has had the wrap around that you have helped, right?
 
Yeah, we only carry the wrap around ID at my shop. The moldable tounge IDs are new for last season. In my opinion ID liners are the way to go if you are looking full custom. Sure you can get a surefoot liner, but that will cost you more money, and I dont think they are as warm or as comfortable.
 
Sounds good, I will have to get some. I tried on the CS Pros, Banshee Pros, Ghosts, Rossi 120 or something like that, FTs, Nordicas, and some others today and got the CS Pros. Evo didn't even have the CS Pros on it's sight and they were not out for display, but since I knew they had one pair I tried that one and got it for only $380. They were also the stiffest boot I tried which I like, but I was suprised the Banshee Pros were not stiffer(labeled 135..also they felt like they were made for someone with large swollen toes to fit in to, disappointing). Rossis were the second best with similar flex, but not quite as smooth and less comfy on my shins. FTs would have worked if I got about the 310BSL kind(27.5? not sure, FT runs short) and got them stretched, but they just seemed so soft(every kind) and I didn't know how hard getting that custom work would be. plus they will not charge like Falcons I bet.
 
Glad to head you found a good fitting boot. FT sizes run wierd, A 28 shell from them is a 318, and a normal 28 shell is a 226. Gotta size by the BSL or size up one shell size
