Fishing around mt hood?

Well if you can make it down the road a little ways then yeah! The sandy and clackamas rivers are both within a short drive 20-30 mins and both have some great fishing!!!! Especially if you are into Salmon!!! I suggest the fishing the clackmas above barton out toward estacada also you can go to several of the lakes out there.... promontory and north fork are sure hits!

Depends on what you want to catch. You can fish in Trillium and the other lakes around hood, mostly for stocked trout, you can even check the stocking schedules online at the odfw site. I like to float tube them, not sure how good the bank fishing is, though I know Harriet Lake has decent bank fishing. Some of the small rivers offer fly fishing opportunities for small native cutthroat and if the time is right the salmon and steelhead will be running in the Sandy and Clackamas rivers.

i used to have pretty good luck at frog lake. small lake but pretty good sized trout. havent been there for about 5 yrs so dont know what its like now

Whats good to use if were not fly fishing, at Tillium??? from the bank with just spinning reels??? worms? power bait?ha! or lures?

I have good luck with spinners. rooster tails (darker colors work best) or krokodiles are a must carry for any high lake around here. Get yourself a mt hood national forest map and hit up any of the many lakes around. Trillium is too crowded for my taste
