Fisheye "angle"

"angle", "spread", "degree"??? Dunno what the name is, but I saw a fisheye that had a 0,7 "thingy" strenght...

Apparently it determines how enhanced the fisheye effect is / how wide-angle the lense is.

How "strong" would you recommend the fisheye to be? Is 0,7 alot or to little to make use of in filming skiers?

dude you shouldnt even use fisheye for skiing. maybe for a rail or something. but fisheye which is called a wide lense is used to make things seem bigger because you can get closer because you can fit everything in the shot. but most of skiing is shot from far away so you wouldnt even need it. but they are good for skateboarding when you are following and shit and getting right up next to the board and shit.

 
a wide angle is great for shooting rails and jumps from the deck or followcam. Off the top of my head I think mines a 3.4 and it works great...nice wide field of vision

shit you guys have no fucking idea what you are talking about. First of all the number, fisheye is usually around 0.5. The number corresponds to the size of the picutre. 1.0 would be regular, and 0.5 would be doulbe the size. A true fiseeye is fucking a really low number like 0.3 or something, and that gets pretty pricey. Fisheye is good for most skiing shots, unless you wanna shoot a jump from far away. I bought a kenko 0.52 (i think) and it says "fisheye" but im pretty sure its just super wide. The kenko is only about 50 bucks and its an amazing lens, you can look at some of my vids and youll see. anyways look up fisheye in the threads youll find some good info.

i have a kenko .5x lense, its sick because its wide angle so you can get a lot of stuff in, but it doesbt have the retarded circle effect of a fisheye, and the picture isnt all distorted, i love it

ya real fisheye is around .3 . .5 and .7 are wide angle lens with a little bit of distortion at the edges
