First touring set up

I am looking into getting a touring setup and I found a pair of salomon quest 106 for a decent price. I was thinking about putting some shifts on these. Would this be a decent setup?

Would be heavier, but would be fine.

I wouldn't want it as a dedicated touring ski, but if it's your 'jack of all trades' it's suitable.

Just be aware there are certain boots that will not work with the shift, such as anything dynafit in the last 2 seasons.

Yea after looking at other gear I realized it would be pretty heavy. I ended up not buying that setup, and I am waiting until next season to get something lighter and better.

I’m now looking at the Moment Bibby 108 tour or the deathwish tour. As for bindings and boots I’m not 100% sure on what I want. The bindings that have caught my eye are Shifts, Kingpins, and the Fritschi Tectons. As for boots I’ve looked at the Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 130’s If you have any advice or info on boots or the bindings I listed or any other AT gear lemme know.

For boots... get boots that fit you first and foremost... That would be step 1. Don't even consider your skis until you have step 1 completed.

As for skis... I have no idea where you ski so I can't really suggest anything.
