This is my first edit using mostly t2i shots. I need to get more familiar with setting white balance, shutter speed, iso ect. for best performance ... but this is what i have created with 2 days of having it! +k for good feedback.

nice edit. was that with the kit lense and how much did you pay for it. just wondering if the price dropped since the t3i came out

I know it's dumb, but what app was that on the Iphone!? hahaha. Just wondering, but the edit was SIIIIICK!

Pretty good, some beginning shots were overexposed but after that it was really good. I'd also say try to avoid zooming in or out with a DSLR because it's pretty inconsistent when it comes to fluidity (really choppy motions), especially with a non-fixed aperture lens.

great edit man! your best yet.
-i understand that the part in the beginning is for your friends, and that's chill. just as long as you know that it will probably cause a lot of people to stop watching if that type of thing goes on for too long-great cuts once the music got going. you actually probably could have done a little more with the color in those shots, not that the color isn't good already-Try not to be too repetitive with your shots. what i mean is that you don't need to have as many shots be dropping something in/out of focus. -great job at :58 for using a clip most people wouldn't even think to use and burning it into a good lifestyle clip. the way you tied those two clips together with the film burn was real good-sick shot at 1:00. great colors and use of audio-the shot at 1:06 probably should have been cut. first of all, i can see that you slightly overshot your focus and went soft again for a second. that alone is usually enough to cut a shot (especially a filler shot) in my book. also, bear in mind that ideally, filler/establishing shots are used to tell a story. a close up of a sign, somebody walking with their board, an artistic shot of scenery, that kind of thing. the shot tells us we're somewhere with a fence, but not much more than that. i know it's fun to play around with focusing on stuff, but if it doesn't add to the 'story' then cut it. -make sure you don't zoom with that lens. zooming while filming with a dslr is generally a bad idea, 1. because it's not smooth and 2. because on a non-fixed aperture lens, the exposure will change. -what you probably should have done at 1:15 was linked the two good parts of the clip together with a film burn or something, cutting out that middle zooming/readjusting part. personally, i probably would have only used the first part of the clip since the second part was pretty far away and the exposure was changing. -when you have a shot like the trampoline shot at 1:27, you need to do something to make it very different. either do something very unique with the colors, add camera movement (like a dolly), or just play with the focus. this is a shot where DOF porn (adding shallow depth of field for no real reason) would probably be acceptable to make it stand out from other tramp shots we've all seen. -If you're making an edit, in general try to stay away from making 'segments' unless it's a long edit and each segment is long. to have one lifestyle shot and then one action shot for each person disrupts the flow of the edit. Also, I felt that the pacing and vibe of the lifestyle shot for Robbie didn't really gel with the flow of the rest of the edit.

hope that helps! as i said, awesome job, can't wait to see your next edit.

thanks again for an amazing critique! ill be looking forward to making my next video with these ideas!
