First snow whistler village!!!!!!!

If they open for the 10th i'll cry tears of happiness. I'm back in whistler/vancouver the 10th-14th and am broke so it'll probably be my only chance at skiing this semester.

No way are they opening on the 10th, this last snowfall was the first at mid mountain where they will open the lifts (Red and Emerald) and they need more snow so they can get the groomers out to pack it.

Nov 17 would be the early opening date if they get enough snow in the next 2 weeks to do adequate packing/trail prep on the mid mountain.

Oops, I meant Friday November 19 is my prediction for opening day.

Hope I'm wrong somehow, would love to get up on the 12th, gear and car are ready to go. I doubt it will happen even with snow making and cold temps. Doesn't look like a ton of snow is coming this week either, maybe 25-30cm. At least it shouldn't get warm again.

well I'm getting there on the 6th anything good to do before the mountain opens? also not 19 so cant really go to bars...

Unless somebody knows how to get me a fake id!?

if it's the 18th you mean that would be sick. that's my birthday :D

I think as long as they get snow, they will open early. Every year i lived there they opened early. The best was 2009 when they opened 2 weeks early because there was like 10 feet of snow.

Yeah, Nov 2009 was a ridiculously huge snow month, most snow in a month ever I think (560cm).

I did mean to say Nov 18th because typically when they do an early opening it's on a Friday, versus the "official" opening day which is always a Thursday right? Either way I'll be up on the first Saturday with the other desk jockey weekend warriors.

the snowlines moving back up because its been sunny and warmer out the past few days... but its cold enough to have the snow guns going so fingers crossed!

shit yeah it did! i was at work for two hours... the snow started slowly near the end of my first treatment, and then when i had finished my second treatment everything was covered completely! stoked! my car is super shit in the snow though.
