Why do people feel the need to mention in their post that it is the first post, or even devote their entire post to saying that it is the first one? There are two reasons why i think that this is stupid. First, everyone can tell that you got the first post even if you dont bring it up (because it's the one with no other posts before it). And second, does anyone really care that you got the first post? If you're cluttering up the discussion for the sole purpose of making yourself feel good, you shouldn't because nobody cares.

The site gets millions of hits a day, and when it was growing years ago, people would be proud of having first post because it meant they beat out legions of other nerds that were refreshing the page constantly waiting for a new news item to appear.
