choosing your first longboard depends on a few things. First and foremost is your surrounding terrain. If you got alot of big cruising hills i would recommend a board that is slightly long like 40" to 47". Another decision to make is whether you want your board to be concaved at all. My first long board was a sector nine classic pin tail. it was a flat deck that ran around 47" long. sweet for big hills and cruising roads but has trouble getting around the college campus. any other question just hit me up. Hope This helps a little

i bought a pre-made sector nine from a local board shop, its suited me just fine. my girl did the same thing. we are not that serious (unless you want to count how serious i am about crashing). shit is fine.
