leave him in a basket at the front door of the newschoolers office so he can be the child of freeskiing

As much as I hate to admit it... it would probably be best for a kid's freeskiing abilities to do a few years of racing before hitting the park; it'll lock in a lot of really basic skill sets that I see a lot of little shredders lack. Just my opinion.
 
Congratulations buddy! I'm a fellow newschoolers dad too. I have a 10 year old daughter. It'll be a few years before you get your little dude out there, but enjoy it all when they are little. .........they grow up fast!
 
I credit my ability to not ski in the back seat to my few years of racing as kid and this poor kid will need to endure a few years of bashing gates as well. Just gives you the right platform to ski balls to the wall anyways ( where did that expression even come from? )

Congrats Dad! My 4 year old is on her 3rd season. It's awesome watching your kid progress from pizza and french fries to linking parallel turns. Good luck.
