First festival video - critique please

Hey guys, so at the end of july i was invited to a festival to be create an overall highlight reel that touched on abit of everything the festival had to offer. This was my first time filming a festival, or any form of live music event for that matter. The weather was pretty horrible the whole weekend bar 1 day so virtually all the day footage was taken on that one day, which i was abit disappointed about.

Anyway, i was really hoping for a critique on this. As i'm fairly new to event cinematography i find it harder to tell what i could have done differently that would have improved the edit, as i potentially have a few more similar gigs lined up i'd really like to develop my skills here.

watch on vimeo is possible as i don't have vimeo+ so it wont be in HD obviously.

Cheers!

The video seem fine to me.

I think if your doing music you need to have that live audio. I have done quite a bit of that.

Maybe check a bit of this. Keep in mind I am not a pro by any means.

I thought it was pretty good for a first time doing some event coverage.

One thing I’ve learnt from my limited experience of covering events is to plan ahead as much as you can, if you have an idea of all the stuff you want to cover then it can make it a lot easier when it comes to actually filming, obviously the rain probably ruined quite a bit of planning you’d have done

In terms of filming I thought there were a few shots where you cut off the heads of people, not sure if this was intentional or not? examples of what I’m talking about are at 0:14, 0:21 (the guy on the left of the screen’s head was cut of at the start of the shot) and 2:45.

I wouldn't agree with Jacques on the live audio front, maybe if you was shooting one artist yes, but for the type of video you're producing it doesn't seem necessary.

I struggled to find faults with the video really, the cutting off of heads is something to think about when filming in future but I wouldn't say it lowered the overall quality of this video since it only happened a couple of times. Overall I thought this was pretty good!

wasn't really what I was looking for bud, was hoping for more of a critique than "seems fine"...

You asked. I gave it my two cents. If you ask your going to get reply's.

No need to be rude when someone is trying to as as you requested.

I asked for critiques "seems fine" is not a critique, i would hardly say that is trying.
