First day this season

We’re expecting and I’m terrified my child will hate skiing because I love it so much. Any tips? Looks like you got a success on your hands!

My dad had to pretend that we were in the hoth battle with the imperial walkers to get me to go up the bunny hill lmao

Congratulations! I waited until she was 5 which was last year. We started with watching some youtube videos of kids like Kai Jones and Kelly Sildaru to get her stoked. The first day we went it was snowing so that helped. The biggest thing is to go at their pace. She likes to take snack breaks and get hot chocolate from the lodge. If you make it all about a fun day they will love it

Congrats!

Right after my latest was born I blew my right knee out(ACL and MCL) skiing. I was couch ridden for a few days so I sat and held him watching [tag=135482]@TravelingCircus[/tag] episodes and kept doing it for a bit. 3 years later when I turn it on and the opening song comes on he comes running into the room yelling, Ski! Ski! He wants a pair of blue skis at the moment, I still think he is a bit young but we will see if Santa delivers this year.

Pro tip: do season rentals while they are still growing. I spent $128 this year for rentals

Appreciate it. I’m wondering when to start them. I see 3 and 4 year olds out there occasionally and knew a kid recently who was skiing blues by the age of 5 on his own and it was all self motivated like his parents weren’t pushing him at all he just loves it.

Since I work with young kids, I’m pretty aware of their developmental milestones at a young age but also cautious about turning them averse to things because I like them and are pushing them on the kid…

Appreciate it! If he’s really that juiced on skiing, I see 3 and 4 year olds on the beginner hill pretty often. Get him a rental and take him up for a day and try to stoke him up. Play the TC theme song on the drive up lol

Great advice and thank you!

Where I am living at the moment we dont have many options for season rentals but something to look into next season. Hope the snow keeps flying where you are at and keep having fun!

I’m not a father and hopefully no where close yet but I suggest making your newborn a NS account just to get them used to the environment and aware of the culture. Of course you’ll have to make posts for them and photoshop an edit but the pay off will be exponential when they learn how to manipulate their thumbs.
