So I like to think of myself as a solid intermediate skiier. Comfortable with air, flat boxes and basic features.. very capable of board sliding rails on skateboard.. but am pretty shook when it comes to sliding a rail sideways on my skis. Going skiing tomorrow and going to push myself to learn them.. What are some pro tips? Focus points? Any advice on how I can avoid catching an edge and becoming acquainted with the rail?

keep your lower body fully 90 but turn your head and watch the end of the rail

I always watch a clip of someone doing a trick I want to learn in slow mo tons of times and look at every single thing about the person doing the trick, such as what their head shoulders waist and legs are doing. Gives you good insight on how to learn it

If you can comfortably slide boxes sideways then a rail should be no problem, just don't pedal too hard and sack yourself. Other than that, they feel pretty similar with enough speed.

I had trouble hitting rails at first but a thing someone told me was to point yourself towards the end of the rail and hop to ninety and keeping looking to the end of the rail

Nothing we tell you is going to be as helpful as actually trying it, hiking the rail will also be good because you won’t get in your head as much
