Firewire..

Yep, you just need to have an available PCI slot in your computer. Firewire cards don't usually cost that much. I got mine for about $60 CDN, it has three ports and works great.

Thanks a lot. I always thought firewire was for Mac.

So a firewire will hook up to any digital camcorder as well? I have a sony digital8.

Im just planning ahead because im thinking about buying a sony vaio desktop. 60gb, 256mb ram (which i will likely upgrade), pent 4, 2.0 ghz, DVD Burner.

i am surprised that that computer doesn't come with firewire...check again i am pretty sure it will.

if your buying a vaio desktop dont they come with an ilink prot built in? It should hook right up with you camera so you wont need firewire

in a couple months PC's will have an equivilant of firewire, actually it may be faster. I forget the name though, sorry

In a couple months, you will be waiting for this imaginary product, while I have my Firewire PCI card in my computer, and have, for the last 6 months...

maybe he is talking about Firewire 800? You can already get PCI cards though...and macs have had it built in for a few months now i believe.
