Fires on gov land?

Coupla friends and I want to hit up the woods of govy and have a modest bonfire/campfire tonight...is that illegal? Good place to do it?

Usually on national forest land youre good to go. National park would be a big no no usually. A simple google would solve your answer Im sure.
