mines coming in the mail gonna have the 24-105, 70-200, and debating getting the 50mm 1.4. my one lens theory was a little stupid, but ill probably only take the 24-105 for most days of shooting

Not remotely as wide, which in the realm of crop sensor ski filming makes the 11-16 a must. Almost all professional filmers who work with the 7d or any other 1.6 crop say that and the sigma 30mm are a must have. I'd much rather have the 11-16 for my line of work

I guess if your mostly doing follows. I'd much rather have a 24-105 and I think a lot of professionals would also agree with me.

I'd prefer the 24-105 ANY day. It seems like the perfect lens for skiing. You can get away with follows with a 24mm lens, you have enough focal length to do some tripod work, and a solid constant aperture at f4. You don't need f2.8 for skiing.

30mm is still considered a wide angle by many brands and people. When comparing to the "standard" focal length of 50 at least.

last year I shot most of my follows with a 24-105, I liked 24 over 17mm (17-40). Tighter follows ftw

Damn that's impressive. After shooting with the tokina 11-16 everything else seems far less than ideal for follows.
