Is there any way to run fcp 10 with 64 vram? I have been looking through the code for about an hour. If not its cool cuz i know you can do that with v7

i just wanna know some important differences between fcp 10 & 7 and what alternative editor would be better running only 64 vram

When I use 7 I feel like a dinosaur. 10 just feels, looks, and works so much more smooth. But the more my professor makes me do Lynda.Com for Adobe Premier I begin to like that, but FC10 just feels at home because Iv used it the most.

To answer the Q I think you would be okay.

FCPX automatically runs in 64 bit mode (being that your system supports 64 bit). Apple has written the operating system to let applications run in 64 bit mode, even if the core port of the OS still runs in 32 bit mode. There is a lot of confusion regarding what it means to be in "32 vs 64" bit mode. Essentially, booting your computer in either mode will not affect performance of FCPX (or any other 64 bit app) in any noticeable way.

There are too many differences for me to list at the moment, between FCP 7 and FCPX. Do a quick google search on the differences and you'll find a list of answers.

An alternative NLE that runs in 64 bit, well as long as your system supports 64 bit then your NLE will.

Hope this helps CHORIZO!
