Final cut or premiere?

I've been doing music for an age and have started to film. Up till now i was using imovie (which doesn't have the features i want, I have a copy of premiere and after effects too which seem dope but word on the grapevine is that final cut's pretty nice also. Obviously it's impossible to tell looking at an edit what its been done on but i wanna know, do one of the softwares suit editing short films (ie ski edits) rather than doing feature length films?

+K for yo vibes

I downloaded Final Cut Pro for my edits and downloaded a 30-day trial of After Effects. I didn't pay for any of it and its all good software. Final Cut Pro is a major upgrade from iMovie. I would try to find it on the internet and see whats up. Use some of your shots and play around with it. If you take the time and learn all of the features, you'll be able to create some sick small edits or even lengthy movies.

I guess it comes down to preference but I really don't like Final Cut. Premiere is the best in my opinion.

I used a lot Premiere before college and right now we learn on FCP and I think Premiere is waaaaaaay more easier to use, it's more synthetic and offers more freedom. I'd say FCP is very academic and scolar.

I went from iMovie '11 to Premiere cs5 and had no trouble with the switch After effets is also great, a little more confusing but not to bad

I used to use FCP 7 but i switched to adobe cs6. Adobe is much easier to use with different codecs and it uses your computers hardware much more efficiently than fcp. premiere exports so much faster than fcp for me, both on my mbp and my editing desktop. fcp7 is based on a program that is 8 years old, fcpx is getting better apparently but im over fcp, adobe for life.
