Final cut export settings for HD video uploading to vimeo

I have recently broke my leg, so I started filming and editing. I am new to this and I need help with exporting my videos to vimeo. I first tried exporting using quicktime movie, but it did not look good for me. Then I tried MPEG-4, and I like the quality, but there is black around the edges and I would like to get ride of that. Here is an example of my latest edit :
(Here are some of my settings: MPEG-4 format, h.264 codec, 4000 kbits/sec data rate, 1280x720 resolution)

Thanks +++k

Use H.264 with a bit rate between 2,000-7,000(depending on video length, the shorter, the higher the bit rate you could use) and a frame size of 1280x720

Thanks man! I filmed in 1920x1080 with .mov and when I uploaded it to vimeo I put in 1280x720 and it looked squished and there was black bars on top. If I filmed in lower hd quality 1280x720 on the cam, would it still look squished in the .mov format? +++K for you

When you save to .mov, what is the lowest size but the best quality for HD? For example how do I keep a 2-4 min video under 500 mb for Vimeo when I filmed at 60fps?

Export full quality from final cut, compress in quicktime pro h264 medium-high quality depending on length. I hit under 500 with 3-8 min edits while holding great quality every time.

Thank's man, just what i needed to know-little new to the final cut. Would the ProRes 422 settings be exporting at full quality?
