This guy filmed the entire thing with a remote control heli, it isn't that amazingly smooth but very sick shots

im at school, so cant watch the video, but thats a great idea, if the filming was smooth enough

that was pretty fucking cool. and it was especially smooth considering it was attached to a remote control heli!

Whats amazing about that video is that it was shot with the smallest heli you can lift a camera with (a trex 450) and was shot on a panasonic LX3, which is not the greatest camera, yet the guy pulled off some amazing things. I have the exact same setup and cant come out with anything close to as smooth as his stuff.

The small ones like a 450 which is what that guy is flying can be had for like $600 for a knock off one, for a good one (which you would want for this type stuff) it would be more around $1000. I have a bigger one thats 700 size (6ft rotor span) that should be able to lift like 10lbs and that one cost me $2000 to get running and I bought it second hand. Some of the really good ones go up into the 20-30k range and run on turbine engines and everything. I guess it just depends how much you want to lift and how much control you want over things (like a camera gimbal, video down-llink, stabilization ect...)
Oh, and they are not easy to fly, its all learnable but this guy that shot the video above is very good at flying.

Really sick stuff, pretty smooth also!! Good find..

People should deff get their go pro HD's under those helis, if you hang a little weight under is it will get smoother..
