Hey Ian Fitzgerald here. I'm a photographer and videographer. Im nowhere near pro but I have all the equipment and ability. I'm gonna be working at hood all summer. Im offering cheap Photography, Filming, and Editing Services. Only time i've gotten paid for filming has been from filming weddings, sports, and ive won a few video production contests. Im offering cheap services to make a little extra money while at hood. Honestly if you approached me up on the hill and asked me to film you for a taco I would. I film, edit, and produce for fun. Photography Sessions starting at 10$

Half day film+edit 20$

Full day film+edit 35$

multiple days+Banger edit 50$

You are charging about $2.50/hour......don't undersell yourself in the world of photo/video. If its truly just for fun, don't charge people. Create relationships with riders that will pay off for both of you down the road.
 
Dude. Just do it for free film and then let them do their own edit. I can personally tell you that hardly anyone wants to pay for an edit unless you can deliver something a go pro or casual friend with a dslr cant do.

But to be real in film you're selling yourself way short. To calculate an actual cost to charge you need to account for time spent, gear depreciation/wear and tear. Your pure talent to even show up and provide the service, travel expense, editing costs (which usually takes much longer than the filming if you're actually color correcting grading and doing Audio blah blah blah) I hate charging people for it considering I love to film everyday but the couple that have offered to pay. Prices can range from 60-150 for a 5hrs film day and then usually 15 an hour for editing (cant be lazy have to grind it hard and fast no one will believe a 2minute edit took 20hrs to make) take a look at local production companies and see what there day rates and hourly rates are, if you try to search that for ski filmers you'll notice it doesn't have results unless you are working for a company. Use this summer to build a large portfolio of edits with your flair in it and then use that momentum to start your business for the winter.

Shittt Doggg. I have been hitting you up for over a month to get footage. Just been sitting here on the couch for 2 months and 22 days.
 
Going to be at Windells session 2.

Going to be making a jump shoot edit on the big jump so if anyone is hitting that shit I'd be down to shoot you

also going to be taking pictures all the time. If anyones good with me filming them hit me up

everyone and there mom wants their clips or photos now that the season is done I have like 10 project goin on not trying to duck out on anyone. Ill give Emily a usb with the clips next time I go downstairs, but to be fair we did use all the clips that were solid so idk if you want to re use em or not.

I wont be hitting the big jump but would love to get out from behind the camera and get some rail shots I should hopefully be there for the session

when are you able to get back on your feet? I don't think I'm doing anything tomorrow, could swing up drink some beer drop off shots or hit the lake if you can hobble it.

If you're there to film there is absolutely no reason that you can't film them. I haven't met many but I bet that they will be fine with it tbh
 
Good deal. Nothing wrong with doing it on the cheap. As far as all the people saying he should do it for free or charge more. He wants to do it for fun but just trying to get a few extra bucks so he's charging a low fee.

Nothing wrong with that. I'd rather try and get into ridiculous trades for footage though. 1 and a 5 pack of beer.
