Film setup?

So I got a Nikon d5300 on a c frame rig, need a mic that's cheap, should I get a shotgun or one of those feather style ones, which ones better for wind reduction. Also should I get a cheap glidecam

i wouldnt cheap out on a mic. not sure what you mean by "those feather style ones"

the cheapest mic i'd get is the rode videomic go, but the videomic pro is much better.

as for stabilization, i had one of those knock-off glidecams and it really wasnt useable. i got an xr-4000 about a year ago and it is much much better.

they're for sale quite often on NS as well as the rode mics.

although disregard all this if you arent super serious about making edits and the quality

I used a rode videomic go for a season, it works for the price, but the videomic pro is better. I'd probably sell you my rode videomic go really cheap. but thats because thats what it is worth. Any equipment you buy for filming will be worth what you pay for, the more you pay the better it will be in most cases, especially mics.

I'll take it, pm'd ya

I've had good luck with my knockoff glidecam, works really well for me with my 3300(plus an almost 1 pound lens aka tamron 17-50 2.8 LD), also I'd go micro over go imo sounds better.
