Hey guys,Put together a little Film Reel for fun of some shots over the last 2 years. Not looking to do anything with it but let me know what you think! Constructive criticism welcome. All shot hand held on Canon 7D and a couple of T2i shots at the beginning.

Enjoy!

What's up with the fence at 0:27? Thought all of it was really good, pretty rapid focus at 1:17.

I liked it a lot! although i did see the warping on the fence and as well as the shot of the boat but otherwise it looked pretty solid

Digital stabilization...you used it way too much.

Every other shot it the edit had very noticeable warping. After the first shot, it was the only thing i was really paying attention to. It's ok to use it, but you're stabilizing it way too much when the image starts to get distorted like that.

Thank you! And no I didn't shoot anything in neutral, was all shot standard. Just really lowered the contrast in post and then did some basic curves. Thanks again!

Yes thanks for that, I am aware of Digital Stabilization and warping. Unfortunately not having a tripod and not traveling with a steadycam leads to working with what you've got. Preferred the little bit of warping in some shots than shaky, hard to concentrate on footage. But thank you for your opinion.

This bothered me... alot. you shouldn't have shots that are warping and such in your reel.

First and foremost, love the song. Also, the video was really cool. I loved all of the different colors and the jump focus on the green. Good work.

I shot this all handheld with my 60D and used warp stabilizer on about 50% of the shots. I added just enough to take out some of the the shake you get when filming handheld with a dslr but not enough to make the image distorted.

The point I'm trying to make is that there is a happy medium when using digital stabilization. If you have to add as much stabilization as you did to make it look smooth, it's not exactly reel worthy. I'm not saying your footage is bad, it's just that the warping from over use of digital stabilization is a major distraction when watching it.

I really enjoyed it! I'm on mobile so didn't notice any little things. I personally love the golf shot that rezooms to the hole
