FIll out this Survey on Jumping Lift Lines (mobile tickets)!

Many resorts are switching to RFIDs and I think scanners are on their way out. I don't see it being practical out on the hill either especially if you have to take your gloves/mitts off to access your phone to pull out the barcode.

I fucking love mobile ticketing for airlines and fastfood/coffee but those are always used in warm indoor places.

See I think one of the most beneficial aspects of iphone ticketing is not having to wait in line to buy a ticket in the morning, instead you can go straight to the lift

Using NFC's to act as a season pass, similar to ISYS or some of the other forms of payments would be rad. I'd use it for sure. Great idea.

Is the idea of this to have your pass on your phone? So you'd have to take out your phone every time you got on the lift...Seems like an accident waiting to happen, and cold days etc...Unless I'm missing something here.

Thats the base idea, and I know there are quite a few loop holes to figure out so if anyone has any insight, id love to hear what you think

- everyone doesn't have a smart phone- a lot of people don't ski with their phones

- iphones are garbage in the cold (most phones are garbage at -20 C)

- losing your stupidly expensive phone because you are always taking it in an out is lame

Took the survey. Some issues that come to mind - poor self phone service in the area, phones freezing, inconvenience to skier, added liability to resort. Given the option, I would prefer to have a lift ticket.

oh I didn't understand you meant useing your phone AS the ticket, I thought you meant buying your ticket over your phone.

In that case I change my mind and would much prefer is a physical ticket that wont die in the cold.

I hate to say it man but it'll never work. What could be cool is having a cellphone case that had an RFID chip in it that you could put your pass on etc...But I mean they already tell you to keep your cell away from your pass if it is RFID for scanning so I don't really see that being an option either.

Done. I'm down for the idea, but what about for like an iPod or something if you chose to leave your phone at home?

RFID provides all of the benefits (reusable tickets) with non of the hassle. Stupid idea is stupid.

Just because you could do something with a twitter machine does not mean its a good idea.
