fernie sucks... the terrain is sick, but you can't ski shit if there's no snow.

how the fuck can you call yourself an international destination if you:

a) get rid of your halfpipe

b) your slogan is 'legendary powder' but when you have no snow, you act like there's nothing wrong and the locals are just over reacting.

c) the mountain is only 20% open at the end of january and they are still charging full price for lift tickets.

d) blow the whole situation off, and demand that your staff tell (did i say tell, i ment lie) to the guests, and say only positive things about the snow conditions like 'spring conditions'.

e)RCR CAN TAKE IT UP THE ASS. You can not be an international resort if your mountain is run by red neck locals, whos only care is getting the initial dollar (even if it means to lie to get it) than piss everyone off and make them leave).

I think the problem is that the red neck locals dont run the mountain anymore. ever since rcr bought fernie we'v had like one good season.. but I guess thats the punnishmet we get for letting overweight small penis havin old men from calgary buy what used to be the best resort in north america(thats just my opinion). anyway when we did have the pipe it was only shaped maybe once ever two months.. after constant complaints and even a few letters from locals and gorbies alike they decided to fill the pipe in.. wich absolutly blows my mind caus now they just have a useless space that is a real safety hazard.. just immagine some old guy not paying attention in flat light go flying inthere. anyway you arnt alone in your hatred for rcr.. everybody hates them and the incompitant butt nuggets they appoint as management.

are you blaming rcr for bad seasons weather wise? 'cause it's not the fact that we have no snow as to why i'm pissed with them, it's that we have no snow and the mountain doesn't care.

and are you sure that rcr took over completely, because i'm pretty sure the management is still the same, they just have a boss that's higher up... 'cause i mean, rcr's got the lake, they understand what a terrain park means for skiing and snowboarding these days... they have a pro team... so why would rcr take away their pipe in fernie when they know how important a park is (especially when there's no snow).

not only do I blame rcr for bad weather, they also get blamed when my knees hurt and also for creating reality tv.. they are my scapegoat for everything. as far as management goes I'm pretty sure most of the pre-rcr staff have either quit or been 'let go'.

for some reason they refuse to market fernie as anything but a powder mountain, maybe the old timers are afraid of change, though they are slowly making progress.. just three years ago the park consisted of three small jumps and a ratty pipe, now we'v got what like 20 rails, a nice wall ride thats not up(or so I'm told), and I'm sure as soon as we get enough snow hal will get bussy on some booters. its horse shit I know but whatever it could be worse.
