Fernie bc

It kicks butt. So many huge alpine bowls, not a bad terrain park, great pow because of the fact it is in an inland rainforest. That fact also means it rains a bit, so bring your shell. So go for it.

Yes lots of ski/hike to BC lift serviced. Please have BC gear/knowledge as there is often hi avy danger, you can get in trouble easy.

^Excellent point. Dont get into the bc unless you know what you are doing, because we want our tax dollars going to something more productive than hauling dead people out of the backcountry.

Yeah fernie is the shit. Never really crowded and its cheap to ski at. Look at conditions and weather outlook before you go. Last year sucked, winter never really came till later on in the season.

I'm riding fernie from Jan To April thsi year so im hoping its going to be sweet.

Didn't they remove thier half pipe last year, and does anybody know plans for them makingone this season?

Ya i live in revelstoke...north of fernie and we are pretty well known for back country and sledding.....but i want to travel around british columbia some and get some new spots so i thought fernie would be a good place

^yeah, fernie is really nice. but my number one suggestion is drove 5 hours and ski at Whitewater in Nelson. Nuff said.

Nelson is 563km from Revy so I'd wager on the interior highways it would take 5 hours. Do you think it would take longer or shorter?

Fernie is terrible. The snow sucks, and the runs are short, and the park is non existant. The Backcountry is rediculously hard to get out of, u have to hike for close to 3 hours after one run if you go OB.

Also, the lifts are old and very slow, and usually it is either foggy or minus 25C.
