Fernie b.c.

going to Fernie in march with school. looking for advice on where to find the best snow if it hasn't snowed in a while. best runs/ runs to stay away from, good natural features/line or places to build booters

I don't know the mountain super well, but there are seemingly endless potential spots for jumps, they're always scattered all over the hill.

If you follow the cat track off of white pass chair (think that's the name) to the left the trees have decent snow most of the time and you can hike up lost boys pass takes around 30min.

Also be prepared for cold and windy upper mountain and a warm sunny lower mountain. If it has not snowed in a few days avoid the trees on the lower mountian (upper mountain and cedar bowl are fine though) the snow is real heavy and if it is sunny out it becomes a hot humid mess from my experience.

i hear you need to buy a separate pass for the park, but you really don't need to go to the park to have fun there... Huck some cliffs yo!

You do need a pass its cheap though but if you only plan on doing a couple laps you can always sneak in near the end of the day the guy working at the top wont chase you just don't be upset if you get in trouble if you do this. Don't try it in the skier cross course though its much harder to get in.
