Ferdi on jet?

As a huge fan of Ferdi and his skiing I have also noticed this and wondered when there would be a thread.

Here are some of the observations i made throughout the season:

- Ferdi riding K2 Pochers with black topsheets (painted?) I thought he might test some K2 protos and could maybe even get a promodel from them (there were rumors in the Gear Hype Thread but they turned out to be about Karls promodel)

-Ferdi gets hooked up from Quan with those two old different Al Dentes (probably 188s) as Al Dentes dont come in 188 anymore

-rumors about Ferdi on Armada after Ferdi posts a pipe clip on some Strangers

-Jetskis release a new gen of skis out of nowhere as they always do. With some carbon looking topsheets. Dylan Manley mocks the topsheets in a story post with a doodle dick drawn on some cardboard which looks like the Jetski topsheets which says „Jets“ in it.

-Ferdi posts a screenshot of a call between him and @jetskis.xyz on his story

-Ferdi appears on Jets shortly after this. First in the teaser to the sugar bowl stop of Jib League and now in all the Jibleague videos.

Those are my observations in chronological order. I had the idea that Ferdi might want to start to get some Capeesh x Jetski collabo going.

I‘m not a huge fan of Jetskis to be honest. I always get some „to cool for everybody else“ vibes from their riders, videos and forced „underground marketing“ and „cool playing“.

Zootspace was groundbreaking though and I am hyped about the movie they might put out.

Hope they focus on skiing and have not only smashed couch tables for the last 2 years.

If Ferdi is now on Jet the movie will have Joel Magnusson, Lauri and Ferdi which would be way to crazy!

what’s funny about this

I find it pretty entertaining as well. Idk anything really but seems this thread is like 70% speculation 15% hearsay and the rest is that one post with the timeline of observations. All that being said, sounds like exactly what the homies were going for

I think shit is going to change when the movie drops in 2025. They have been lurking underground for a few years now, building hype around the brand but probably operating at a loss. Then they will drop a legendary movie and expand production at the same time, maybe with outside investment money of some sort. I think that would be a smart move, a lot of these rider owned brands are often greeted with skepticism by the community and I think a lot of them fuck it up by coming on too strong in a way. Look at 1000 skis, I honestly can’t think of many brands that get ripped on harder than they do, and I think it has a lot to do with the way they came into the scene. Their marketing is pretty over the top and obnoxious, flooding social media with content that immediately alienated their target buyer. Vishnu played it way more low key and based their marketing around street skiing content, which is similar to what jet is doing now, and now there are Vs everywhere. The original Vishnu website was almost as mysterious as jetskis, nobody even knew where they were made or what the turn radius was (still unknown?). Lotta speculation here but I’m very interested to see where this brand goes after the movie drops and signing a big name skier like ferdi would also be a game changer.

I think this is a good theory, maybe ferdi will be part owner or something

No cap bought my first Vishnu's in 2015 because I saw Dylan Manley riding them in Trollin'. I was so sure I was never going to see those skis. They've come a long way since then

Yeah got my pools in 2017, still felt like a huge gamble then lol

Mindbenders here. I think he might just be trying stuff or is not sponsored for skis at all anymore.

kind of a vibe. reminds me of a thing in pro disc golf where some pros have disc manufacture sponsors but can have an “open bag” and throw whatever brand they want. not really an equivalent for that in skiing but would be cool

Actually? Saw the same things floating on the gram.

It was to build some hype for this years kimbosessions, which started yesterday or today i believe. The Hotlaps edit came out a few days ago and features last years setup. Observe!

Idk why he has a new account rn tho.

That account had to die along side my opioid alcohol addiction

Ferdi was on Armada skis in his latest post. Maybe next he will have Jet on other foot and Armada on the other

Saw that as well. He was on al dentes before jet. And spotted on strangers. Interesting to see him moving more towards jib skis.

This is a huge step. After the creation of Jib League, there are many eyes on Ferdi. Instead of pulling some Tony Hawk shit, Ferdi wants to contribute to new/small companies.

Invalid take. Please don't demote me as a "zoomer." If you did some actual research into Hawk's business ventures, you would see he simply does not support small names in the skate industry. He prefers massive brand deals with huge corporations.

i mean, not looking to get into an argument about tony hawk and you're welcome to your opinion, but i'm pretty sure he started birdhouse in like the early 90s. and made one of the greatest video games ever with the THPS games. and doesn't one of his companies focus on making kids' clothes and gear (and when i've noticed it it's seemed very affordable)? i'd say he's doing right by the people just fine

Andrew Reynolds has said on multiple podcasts he wouldn't have been able to start Baker if it weren't for the THPS money.

Tony Hawk is also responsible for building more skateparks than anyone else in the world.

Yeah he's taken a few corpo sponsors, but has always given back tons to the community and is an awesome representative for skating in the mainstream. Not to mention dude still rips at 50+ and skates almost everyday.

Thps royalties helped a lot of pros support themselves. That’s pretty great for the scene

Breaking News: Southern California Retired Skater Chooses Brand Deals that Pay More.

It’s pretty easy for us to talk shit about guys “selling out” when nobody is offering us those checks, you know? The fact that Tony Hawk brought action sports to the world stage isn’t debatable though. It paved the way for the mass market appeal of things like X-Games and Freestyle sports in the Olympics. So now we have the luxury of talking shit about those massively successful comp-jocks on a contrarian Internet forum.

Bumping a dead thread here, but I talked to ferdi at up on the glacier at WW Cooper about this thread and he said he was just trying out a bunch of different skis from different brands. This week he was riding 189 Vishnu Keys.

Dude I bet k2 sells 100x more park skis than jet, no exaggeration. Their skis are also for sure way cheaper to produce.

I was told that they cost $100 per pair. At least for their base models or whatever. For jets that is. That probably has gone up a bit since I was told that. Still seems pretty damn cheap though.

Not yet, that wheel isn't even the correct spacing for my current bike. When my lil bro gets a 29er I'll probably let him use it. Have a ton of other shit I need to sell or fix.

I I was talking to Dylan Manley about ferdi riding keys today and he said that he was gonna join the team. Ferdi on Vishnu
