Ferarri in Paris

I searchbarred and didn't find anything, but anyways this video is aclassic. Anyone with a passion for cars should enjoy it. Def. worth the8 minutes. It was made for a short film and it is all real.

On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a
gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend,
a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart
of Paris early in the morning . The film was limited for technical reasons
to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to
the Basilica of Sacre Coeur. No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable
to obtain a permit. The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes,
reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running
real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way
up real one-way streets.
Upon showing the film in public for the first time,
Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and
the film went underground.
If you haven't seen this before it is a classic,
if you have seen it I apologize, but it's still a classic. Turn on your
sound and enjoy...

good post man.

it reminds me i have this movie on dvd somewhere in the house.

people that like cars should watch this.

claim: my dad has this on dvd and so I watch it in hd tous le temps. /claim. I also told my driver's ed teacher to watch it. He was slightly less than impressed. It's a great video. Nice post!

ha i now have a new goal in life i am so damn suprised that he never got arrested thats just incredible and the sound is just orgasmic!

Doesn't anyone else think this is foolish/incredibly stupid? He put the lives of many innocent drivers at risk. He had a couple close calls. This might be "cool", but if he hit someone it would have simply been a shame.

yeah, but he didn't, and that's why it's awesome.

This happened over 30 years ago, I see so many kids doing things that are so much worse than this - at least this guy was a professional driver who drove cars that fast for a living.

They tried to take all the proper precautions, the police could have let it happen safely and decided not to, so they did it as safely as possible. Much better than stupid kids driving their parents cars on populated highways street racing.

No, it's real. My Dad knows Csaba Csere(Car and Driver writer) and he knows whoever the fuck that french guy is. They were talking about it a while ago. I have it on DVD somewhere(the video, not my Dad and Csaba talking)
