in other news all forms of skateboarding are now banned completely on lonsdale, crawling with cops and mad harassment/fines
 
I have noticed that...

mega lame, instead of giving out tickets to long boarders for doing what they love they should inform drivers about how to drive around someone if there skateboarding.

Geh I don't really agree with that. Like I longboard and skateboard, but roads were made for cars, I think giving out tickets is a bit excessive but you can't expect traffic to completely stop for skateboarders. I too enjoy bombing a good hill, and the seymour road is generally fairly quiet, but sometimes some of the people I see weaving through traffic downtown seems just silly.

regardless its tragic to hear of a death like this, and if she was able to ride down the road at mnt seymour she was clearly a talented rider.
 
Its just such a shock for some drivers when they see a long boarder, they just don't understand how the skater has to stop or how fast they are going. It would just be nice to see drivers being more tolerant to the odd skateboarder they encounter. Granted that you shouldn't be skateboarding in a busy downtown area.
 
Exactly for someone who has never done these sports they can't read the body language. Sometimes I bust of the old hand signals for that reason.
