Feeling on protective gear

i heard a buddy of mine talking yesterday about how he skis with a special spine protector, and ass pads, and i just think they would be completely uncomfortable. whats your feeling on that tpe of protective gear?

apparently they're not that bad. and I'd much rather have those pads then a bruised hip. I hit a rail last year and my hip was so bruised, sitting in class was terrible.

also, you spine is pretty important.

I use the protec crash shorrts. they give me more confidence on rails arent uncomfortable or anythng. and i have a friend that wears the back protector when he is feeling cheeky ie corking out

i wear a slytech 2nd skin back protector when i'm racing skicross and i can barely feel it when i'm skiing, much better than my old RED, or friend's POC i've borrowed

You get used to it pretty quickly once you start wearing them, just like a helmet. If you think the strap-on back protectors are uncomfortable, try putting on vest-style protector like Slytech makes.

You'd be surprised how many skiers and snowboarders use back protectors, especially for big airs and back country.

my roommate who skis makes sure he always wears a helmet whenever he goes out and he usually wears a spine guard along with impact shorts. he doesn't complain about it at all, but it's all for safety.

i bought an impact suit thing for this wear. it has like elbows and shoulders on it but they're detachable. i'd definitely pick up some impact shorts and a spine guard. they're defintely worth it even if they do feel weird at first.

Yeah i wear a spine protector and it is seriously unnoticeable. It actually give me a lot more confidence on rails and stuff like that

Ski with the impact shorts and never bother me, but have saved my tailbone/hips on an occasion or too...does make my butt look big though..../meh
