Feature Ideas... GO

Work at my local park and seasons coming to a close... In the off-season we build new features for the park (and renovate some older features). I'm looking for some interesting ideas for features to put in the park. Preferably not anything huge, due to that fact that I'm in Pennsylvania and we don't generally have a lot of snow. Can't wait to see what NS can come up with!

Big spine with a rail for a coping. Sooo much fun

or if your looking for a smaller build, a cannon rail to butter pad to down rail is a really fun setup at my home mountain. Make sure the butter pad is long though

40-50 foot long flat rail

seriously its very fun/satisfying to slide a very long rail at fast speeds, at least until a groomer runs it over and ruins your hard work

Quick question, when you say you build new features....is that just building jib features or shifting dirt to make more jump style features too?

I highly doubt our safety director would allow us to move dirt but I'm definitly open to interesting jump style features.

Make sure you have the basics covered.

Ridiculous/creative features can be awesome, but the most popular rails in the park are simple flat and down rails. They're versatile as well.

I don't know what you have in the park but that's a big factor. What do you have, what are you lacking? What kind of traffic does your park get?

Imo that's where you should be looking versus what ever crazy features this thread turns up.

Sure a z rail is fun, but if the people in your park are more beginner/intermediate and you have a 10' flat rail and a 18' flat rail and nothing in between, you should probably build a flat rail to bridge that gap.

Creative stuff is cool, but I'd stick more with stock features and use them creatively. With flat rails you can have them flat, down, up, train tracks, close in, close out, all kinds of stuff that's creative but with a rail you can take apart at the end of the day and do something normal.

If you have a ton of the basics then go for it, but IMO have a bunch of lame stock features goes further than a few overly elaborate features that don't get hit as much, only have one way to be set up.

Stepping stones.
