Feats of the Human Brain

I know you all know of stories like these, but this video really blew me away. A British man with Autism flies over Rome once in a helicopter and is able to recreate a huge, near-perfect panorama of the city. It takes him three days to complete his drawing.

Sometimes i wish i were autistic and be able to do crazy cool stuff like this... except then i remember that i'd be autistic...

cant remember the guy's name, but there was a guy, also autistic, that became fluent in a new language in two days? crazy stuff, wish i could harnass my brain's full potential

Me too.

There's a movie about a guy who takes a drug and he becomes capable of using a larger percentage of his brain. It's pretty cool.

There a vid of some guy (not autistic) who can do this but over london. He just associates every block with something else to help him remember it

yeah, that guy rules. stephen whatever. he's also a musical savant. the first double savant. last i heard he was taking musical lessons? and judging by the fact that he's black we can safely assume he's horse hung with lightening fast negrofied moves, possibly making him a sexual-savant.

This is so interesting. I always wonder why it seems as though people with 'disabilities' have such wonderful abilities as well. It's very intruiging to me.

The brain is a natural wonder. So many things we take for granted are miracles in their own. Just the fact that an individual (say a baseball player) can watch a ball leave the impact from the bat, and instantly calculate the ball's trajectory based solely on visual assessments of the ball's speed and heading, allowing them to move to the location of the ball's return to earth. It seems so simple simple to somebody who's just catching a ball, but in reality it's fantastic.
