FD Outerwear help

Hey guys i just ordered a pair of pants the other day but recently have heard many absurd comments on here that the pants will just rip wide open etc. Are they really this bad? Or explain what is not good about them...

I have last years, they rip and tear very easily and the waterproofing is awful. However they are very warm and comfortable on dry days.

as a far as this years, I was at the campus rail jam today and FD had a booth set up. It was raining and the stuff they had hanging up on their booth that got hit by rain actually kept most of the water beaded up, even though some of it saturated the jacket it was easy to tell that this years was better than last (the general quality felt nicer).

on a side note though...I have/ have had some high quality outerwear (spyder, oakley, upper end salomon) and in comparison to the FD...Ill just say that FD needs to be around for a bit long until they even get near to catching up.

The negative to positive reviews on their outerwear is like a 4:1 ratio. Not the kind of odds I'd be willing to drop $170 or whatever it is for a pair of pants that are most likely doomed to fall apart. If I were you, I'd return the package to the sender.

sorry, im not going to post in this thread again, but I had to pop back in to say this

I dont HATE my first drop..It just has flaws in waterproofing and stitching (which of course are big flaws), but on the bright side its warm and comfortable. They just really need to work on the water resistance factor.

you probably should have made this thread before you bought the pants.

but i love my fd. warm as fuck. most people who hate on it have either never owned it or used the same excuse "well my friend has fd and........"

I have the pants and i have not had any major problems with them. I have a couple tears here and there but for me they have held up quite well

the only complaint i have about my fd is that it isnt the most waterproof and the pit/thigh zips suck ass

other than taht super warm and so far ive had no ripping isues

its really not bad, ive had my suit for a season and have no major issues apart from MINOR waterproofing issues but ive never actually gotten water inside the jacket, just saturation on the outside
