Favourite albums of 2014 thread

1. Run The Jewels - Run The Jewels 2

2. Sage Francis - Copper Gone

3. Cunninlynguists - Strange Journey Vol. 3

4. Sadistik - Ultraviolet

5. Atmosphere - Southsiders

Not a great year for albums as far as I'm concerned. Run the jewels 2 was incredible though, they even got album of the year from Pithfork and Complex. I really recommend it. Copper Gone was good too but the rest was not all that great.

In Return by odesza was amazing. They're such a talented dou and I'm definitely looking forward to what else they have coming out.

This Is All Yours by alt-J was pretty good. It's a much different sound from their first album and I don't know if Gwil leaving is the change but overall it's a good album.

Our love by Caribou was a good album. Some songs felt drawn out though.

Those are the ones that stand out in my mind.

The Jezabels - The Brink

Rival Sons - Great Western Valkyrie

Kye Kye - Fantasize

Phantogram - Voices

S.Carey (from Bon Iver) - Range of Light

Shitty year for albums in my opinion

2nd this. There were some good ones for sure, but nothing stellar.

They just don't make music like they used to.

"They don't make albums like they used to" Ok Dad.

There was some really solid albums this year, D'angelo's album that just dropped was amazing, RTJ2 was stellar, a bunch of up and coming rappers had good projects such as Isaiah Rahsad, Dej Loaf, Mick Jenkins, Vince Staples. Freddie Gibbs and Madlib dropped a dope collaborative album, FKA Twigs' LP1 was some really good alternative R&B.

Personally I think if you say that nothing good is coming out you're most likely close minded or not looking hard enough.

I really enjoyed Home, Like Noplace Is There by The Hotelie

It was released in February, and in my opinion is an incredibly strong album in the so called "emo revival"

Check out the song, Among the Wildflowers. It's probably one of my new favorites.

Another awesome album this year was Transgender Dysphoria Blues by Against Me!

It is another early in the year release, but damn powerful.

I've been singing Black Me Out for the entire year, because it's raw, emotional, and damn catchy.

Probably the worst /thread in the history of /threading.

The only rap album you MIGHT be able to /thread is Run The Jewels 2. MAYBE

Alvvays - Alvvays

O.C.M.S - Remedy

alt-j - This is all yours

Mac DeMarco - Salad Days

New Pornographers - Brill Bruisers

Lowell - We Loved her Dearly

There really were some amazing albums this year. These are just some off the top of my head but there are many many I'm missing.

Lowell's album may be influenced by bias.. But then someone here might look her up and I'd be helping out a friend.

I dont know about the entire album being real great but there are a couple good songs like high and harolds

Resurrection from New Found Glory ended up being better than I thought it would be.

And beeline it or not 1989 from swift is right up there.
