We all know there are some good national parks but what are some good less known state parks out there?

Being from Minnesota my two favorite are Lake Maria state park

If you were plopped down here without being told where you were, I bet Minnesota wouldn't be the first thing to come to mind.

Don't forget Itasca State Park in MN.

That one is probably my favorite.

But all of the state parks along the north shore are fantastic.

Also Maplewood State Park near me is beautiful in the fall.

My two favorite in CT are Bigelow Hallow and Sleeping Giant State Park. We have some cool State Forests too like Natchaug and Shenipsit where I live. Part of one is my backyard haha. I would post picks if I knew how, but just imagine rolling tree covered hills, with some streams and huge boulders randomly though out the woods. Thanks glaciers! Sleeping Giant is really cool. Part of it used to be a query so there's a huge cliff that you can see the ocean from the top of. You can see it from the highway as you drive North on I-91 and it literally looks like a huge man lying down haha hence the name.

Ontario has a provincial park called Sleeping Giant as well that I really like. Lots of hiking and good views of lake superior.
