I've been moving around since I've been old enough to and had enough money. I'm looking for a dope ski town, not a resort ski town. I want powder and a chill place to live. So I've come to you newschoolers, what is your favvvvvvvv

telluride hands down.

if you need me to persuade you i can. but looking elsewhere is foolish.

some random fucker hiking inbounds shit

see you in december!!

... but fo real if ya got any questions pm me.

I like Mammoth Lakes but it's definitely not the best ski town. I've heard great things about Jackson and PC though. The guy that mentioned Zermatt definitely wins though.

best town atmosphere: breck

best town by architecture: vail

best area: all of tahoe because you just cant go to one resort

This. Although I haven't been to many. Breck was shitty though, seemed like it should have been good but we kept getting disappointments

You mean Lincoln?

But yeah Bethel is pretty sick. So much outdoors stuff to do there. In the summer it's not too bad either.

that.

multiple world class ski resorts all around you.

Calgary is only about an hour away.

shopping is fucking awesome

huge selections of t shirts saying that you've been to banff with a moose and bear on it

unicorns

okay no more hyping up Banff. i dont want the whole world moving there before i can next year. Banff, its allllright i guess

Being an hour away from Banff (Calgary) I'd have to say its pretty awesome, especially with the huge amounts of terrain Sunshine and Lake Louise have. And you can't go wrong with powder, and lots of it.

whistler, bozeman, tahoe area

NELSON is an awesome place 15 minutes from my favorite ski resort

bellingham? (not really a ski town youre about an hour and 15 away from the mountain but its an awesome place)

i like canada a lot, and they usually get pounded during el nino years (next winter)

Rossland/Nelson.

Nice people, small towns, chill attitudes, and in my opinion a very liberal stance on weed.

Oh and there are some pretty sweet mountains too. Neither are Mega Resorts like the stuff around Banff, Whistler, Mammoth.

Red Mountain.

Waitsfield vt, best town to live in, rep 802, mad chill everyone's friendly, mountain's empty during the week only locals up there, check it out

Whistler hands down, You have two huge mountains at your disposal from November to May with a really nice park and great powder runs. Also the inbound hiking is good, but out of bounds is so sick. You also have Vacouver about 1.5-2 Hours away, which is a really cool city. The nightlife/food in Whistler is out of this fucking world compared to some ski towns. And to top it off, you can ski in the summer, and the mountain biking is really ill!

Bellingham!

You've got Mt. Baker

Close to Seattle and Vancouver

Anything you want to do is here, or no more than an hours drive away!

Vail? Best architecture? Like a Epcot version of a Swiss Village. I'll bet you like fake tits too.

I've been thinking breck or tahoe, haven't been to breck yet but its been recommended a few times.

I have to say if i could live in any ski town I've been to id have to take Whistler, Dopest place on Earth. Chilliest atmosphere, nice people, great village and of the course good skiing all over. Close to Vancouver too.

Came here to say this. Best skiing and by far the best beer you could ever ask for.! Bachelor and Deschutes brewery in your back yard!

This guy gets it. Summers are just as good as the winters. Its not a resort like most of the suggestions in this thread. Its an actual town and the skiers at bachelor are among the very best in the world

10/10 for you! Honestly I cant say a single bad thing about bend and i lived there my whole life. I am away now for college but every time i go home to visit its like an amazing vacation! Beezy, head to Bend and you will not be disappointed!

i grew up in portland but raced for the mbsef my entire childhood, drivin over every friday after school. I moved there for school, went to OSU cascades for part of my undergrad after time in corvallis. Trust us beezy, you want bend. we all ski insanely hard and their arent any gaper tourists

don't listen to this kid he smells like farts.

but really Bend is a fucking awesome place brooklynn. good vibe, good snow, good off season, cheap places to live (no sales tax!) check it out.

Breck is also definitely a good choice as well, much smaller town but it gets a fair amount of winter traffic with a good nightlife. plus you have a few more options for riding as well (vail, beaver, abasin, keystone, all under one pass). Little more expensive though

because the the washington cascades are somehow different. Bachy can be flat if you dont know where to go. More pow for me
