I love the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. I am pissed I lost the hat I got from there. I don't think the Peppermill counts so thats mine.

My boss at an old job went back to Germany for vacation so I decided I would take a work cation and booked a week there and worked remotely when it was still cool to work remotely. Work>Laps>Work>Laps>Work>Laps. Every lift there is detachable.

I can't even imagine wasting ones hard earned money to stay at an overpriced hotel at an average ski resort in the most overrated skiing location in NA.

Was a good trip. I ended up having a root canal when there was pow and hit Vail it was fully open with no queues. Fun easy terrain.

Good night life. Hooked up w a hot lifty. Those hot tubs.

You live in the one major city with world class skiing most of us don’t.

The point was that you're choosing to spend thousands of dollars on a ski trip, why go somewhere extremely average and far from an airport? SLC isn't the only place in NA with good skiing, just blows my mind you wouldn't go literally anywhere else.

My dude it was insanely cheap. I always take a trip leave weekend after thanksgiving wherever has coverage and hope for pow. Never get let down. Always go somewhere I can’t afford until April. One year it was Aspen.

Flight and hotel were 1100 for a week.

Its more so I can't believe how much peppermill loves skiing in colorado, idgaf about utah vs colorado, ive skied in colorado many times unfortunately only at the most average resorts, ive heard great things about silverton and crested butte, but haven't skied either. Wasn't meant to be a knock on colorado and TBH im completely fine with the gapers blowing out CO, if they think its the best skiing then thats fine with me.

hahaha dude if you're so hardcore why do you even ride lifts?

I'm pretty sure you didn't even read my post.

My favorite place to stay is the Mont Blue in South Shore Tahoe in the spring. I love driving around the lake over to Squaw, skiing slushy park laps and hitting the KT. Getting back to my room hitting up the gym, a swim and a soak in the hot tub, take a little nap, then go down and gamble til 3, crash, then get up and do it all over again. I wish i could live there!!!

I prefer the Ritz-Carlton.

Yah it’s a pretty dope spot @35/my if you don’t mind staying in something the size of a closet .10 days for 350 vs an average of 2

I actually lived across the street for a month at Horizon which is now Hard Rock for a bit one winter. Got a crazy good weekly rate maybe 210 and 30/night. Had to really push for a lake view but got it. Agreement was that I'd leave during the holidays.

I remember the internet wasn't included so I'd call the number and lie and say I paid and it wasn't working and would have to call 10 times each week before someone would hook it up for free.

Don't think I've stayed in Mont Blu since I was a kid and with my dad. Never stayed in Harrahs. I have stayed in Harveys many times recently too. This December I finally caved and stayed across the border in CA had always tried to not slum it but was too broke. Last 2 trips I don't think I won a single fucking basketball bet. Its a good thing I was poor tbh I lost so bad.

It’s funny because it really seems to piss off people in Colorado for some reason. Probably because everything he says is true.

Air BNB bitches. Fuck your hotel and those shitty little loud kids in the room next to you.

Never had a problem with kids... stayed at fall line condo in killi, had these ignorant 50+ bitches loud as fuck above us, stomping around (fatty dancing I presume ) , tv louder than a rock concert, ignored security outside banging on there door for 45 minutes , eventually they got a key, idk what happened but the next morning their luggage was all packed up outside their door they were inside still so I took a nice long morning piss in their bags, they called to complain it was my day to check out anyway so I didn’t care, security dude lost his shit laughing too, this was March 2nd or 3rd , it started dumping so we stayed 2 more days.

Lotta lil shredders there, quiet respectful lil party animals they are and at 9pm they b quiet ??

Nope. I was employed and went a week after Thanksgiving. It was $1160.00 for 6 nights and airfare to Eagle/Vail not shitty ass DIA. I just searched my email to see.

Also uber was brand new to the valley so rides to Vail were stupid cheap I bet that would be 3x as much rn.

I mean this thread is about hotels and implying vacation. CO is a lot more fun at night than Utah. Other than Park City which doesn't have amazing terrain unless you are talking slack country.

Residence Inn Marriott Salt Lake City is a great hotel always stayed their on Alta/Bird trips back in the day. Thats definitely a top 5 for me.

That's still a lot of cash but a great deal for sure

Why stay in a hotel when under the bridge is free?

Sleeping in the car sucks ass. Especially on pow days when the plows fuck with you. I can't do it for more than a night at a time. Even a more comfortable/bigger car would suck you have to find shit to do until its time to fall asleep.

Now of course you can be eheath and live at the Rents Carlton in SLC near good skiing but the rest of us gotta find a damned place to sleep which usually costs money.

Luckily there will be less people flying to ski locations and the cost of places I've mentioned will go down. Renting a bedroom for 6 months won't there is no shortage of people who want the mountain life and now you got WFH people with good jobs competiting for those spots with the more people trying to be regular ski bums than ever.

Grampa Grunts in VT. It's hostel style but you get your own room. Right down the road from Jay. $50/night with $50 lift tickets to Jay and free breakfast

I'm not talking about sleeping in a car, you think the founding fathers had that kind of luxury? There are plenty of perfectly good refrigerator boxes in Salt Lake

Fernie Slopeside Lodge is the shit. Went up there right after New Years last year, and stayed about 30 seconds from the main chair at the bottom. Only came out to around $80 a night for a room with 2 queen beds, and the room was pretty nice. Splitted that between 4 people and it was cheap as hell.

Oh shit I might have to try this out! Only ever stayed at Snowshoe Lodge and it's the only place I've ever slept in a sleeping bag on top of the bed lol. Great food and drinks though and the owners are part of the fire department. Price I think was $30pp per night.

Does that place fill up quick?

Also lol to anyone who pays for an expensive hotel while skiing. I travel overnight for 90% of my skiing and have never had to do this. There's always a cheap clean hotel or airbnb or b&b in most places. Seems like such a waste of money.

They have a lot of rooms. I can't imagine being fully booked.

I went MLK weekend last year. Called during the week to reserve a room for Saturday and Sunday night.

The place felt fairly empty to me even though it was a long weekend.

The last trip I went on was to Beaver Creek before all of this craziness started and it was such a nice experience from all points of view.

why does [tag=38820]@eheath[/tag] have green name when he basically just shits on everyone? Why would you doubt the lifty was hot? WHY?? You have no idea. Sounds like OP works hard, spends his money on the finer things in life, and is asking to see if anyone else on here has suggestions/a similar affinity. I'm not the most positive person in the world either but why these snap judgements?
