Actually my favorite band now is the bouncing souls. i also like op ivy, nofx, and a bunch of other bands.

 
Bouncing souls, Misfits, Choking Victim / Leftover Crack, Anti-Flag, Unseen, Casualties, Pennywise, Rancid, suicide Machines (they are better live then cd tho)man, the list goes on.

Reason why I didn't mention sublime is because I consider them their own genre. They are Sublime. One of the best bands of all time for sure.

Props to Line1260 for the Ducky Boys and Cock Sparrer on his list. For old school stuff, i would have to go with Fear, X, New York Dolls, BLack Flag, Cockney Rejects, 4 Skins. Newer stuff I would go along the lines of Ducky Boys, Dropkick Murphys (pre al barr, back when mike sang they were amazing) AFI (amazing live), I am suddenly really into American Nightmare again. Ensign and Good Riddance round out some of my more modern bands. Plus many hardcore, skremo, and indie bands.

Aggro_sk8 knows the stuff. Flogging Molly is Amazing! Irish punk similar to Dropkick Murphies except they are from LA not Boston. Best live punk you will ever see! Gob is good, maybe check out some Mad Caddies too.

The good punk is the old punk - Misfits, Minor Threat, Black Flag, The Clash, Pistols, Circle Jerks.

That new stuff ain't new at all. Your uncle was listening to that kind of music when you were still sperm.
