Favorite non-skiing part of skiing?

This has probably been discussed a bunch of times but I'm getting pumped for the season so thought I would share. I love all the pre ritual stuff like waxing ski's the day before to packing a cooler with favorite snacks and beers. I like having a few pops before bed to help calm my anxiousness.

My favorite mountain is a 3hour drive but one of my favorite parts is the ride up with the boys, the hootin and hollering its kinda like pregramming for a great night.

The first gondy ride up filled with anticipation is a favorite of mine as well.

I also thoroughly enjoy the midday shot and a beer that we tend to indulge in more as we get older.

I don't even mind the ride home talking about our favorite runs over a cold one or two

Getting my gear all set up and ready to go the day/night before. I'm usually watching skiing vids while packing to maximize stoke.

I'm so fucking ready for snow.

Wow three hours is a haul... But I love the liftline stoke on pow days, nothing better

This totally. The lift line and all around stoke the day after the US men's slopestyle swept the Olympics podium is something I'll never forget. Fresh foot of pow too that day, but I don't remember the skiing. I remember all the conversations I had and smiles I saw.

Being out on a powder day having a hell of a time shredding pow and sharing stoke with so people all over is the best!

Shred the morning, go inside, grab weed, food and beer from the lodge, and chill in the woods with friends

Lunch. Especially on colder days. Stripping down from most of your outerwear and getting cozy while chowing down something warm doesn't get much better than that and a view of the hill takes it up a notch.

Going in to warm up on an extremely cold day is always nice. But I'd say the best non skiing part of skiing for me is the overall stoke and hanging out with my friends.

As someone said earlier, grillin in the lot on a spring weekday afternoon is my best life.

Stumbling upon shacks in the woods ive never seen before is pretty fun too, especially when theyre in sketchly lil holes in cliffs and stuff. There are some seriously impressive structures hiddin all over most resorts!

Since I live at least 1:30 from any sort of skiing, I've come to enjoy the morning ritual of getting up when it's still pitch black and super cold, making a bunch of coffee, and talking about the day ahead on the ride to the resort / trailhead.

I love the little things in skiing like this. Waking up early, the ride up to the resort, clicking your bindings in, lift rides, eating and chilling in the lodge, etc. These little things really do help in making skiing so great.

Destroying the Liberal (Communist) population, with logic, education, real facts, science, and shouting.

Shouting your political beliefs and heckling from the chair always arises entertainment.

Being the person with the car that performs the best in snow. I love waking up and taking a hot shower, making some hot coffee, seeing snapchats start to come in from the homies I'm picking up and grabbing each and everyone of them from their houses and seeing everyone getting stoked on the way up

When its a mad blizzard and you have to spend an extra 15 just to find layers you never thought you could stuff under your jacket. Something about knowing you are going to get after it despite the weather

to be honest if its for skiing i genuinely enjoy waking up at the asscrack of dawn. i also love the feeling of being up in the mountains in general. the drive up to the hill is always great and if you're staying up in the mountains then talking about your day and anticipating the next day is the best

grilling and drinking on a spring day

skiing and BBQ'ing and drinking lots of beer is a staple imo.

favorite parts include getting home after skiing, drinking beer/smoking weed, and thinking about the next day of more skiing and getting all hyped, including chylling with the boyskis and drinking some "tasty beverages" so to speak haha its all clean fun you know.

but on most pow days i usually get up around 5am, roll some joints/snap a few binger rips, make coffee and eat foods before heading out. the early morning cold/snowy commutes to the mountain listening to some good albums/podcasts/whatever are wonderful.

What has made me even more pumped this year is i finally got new boots, ski's and bindings. My stuff was really old

Full weekend trips. Staying in a ski village whether its a shitty motel or a nice resort, the night life atmosphere of drinking at a bar next to the mountain is an all time favorite of mine. Then the feeling of waking up early and being right next to the mountain is second to none.

The calming silence of falling snow.

There is nothing quite as peaceful as coming to a stop in the woods and just listening to sweet nothingness with faint muffled sounds of hoots n hollers in the distance.

oh shit that's a good answer. nice one man

Drinking a beer on top or bottom of mountain is pretty special. Good call guys. I also like looking at ski maps the night before. I also like that feeling when driving home, it feels like your still skiing, I start looking for side hits and fun lines

My morning ritual, get up while it's dark out, shower, watch an edit to get hyped, load the car and roll some green and burn a few bongs while the car heats up. Then get dunks and bump tunes for 2 hours out to VT on scenic b-roads.

Safety meetings in the trees with the boys also, on pow days or spring days that's also the best shit.

Fuck I wanna just ski already, leafs are already changing and I'm going nuts.

First snow fall of the winter, my skis get automatically waxed. Idgaf if it's in October, or November. My skis will be waxed and ready for December or January.

fuck I wanna ski so bad, living in the UK is shit, where I live we're lucky if it even snows.

Chilling with the crew the night before heading somewhere sick was always dope. Just get stoned, eat food, watch edits, and get everything ready for the morning. I do the same thing now but alone.
