Favorite day of skiing

when was your favorite day of skiing and what did it consist of. for me it was probably my last day skiing this year, gaper day. my friends and i used some old skis and just skiing on rocks and stuff. it was also the day i learned how to spin w/o being super sketchy. either that or the first powder day i ever experienced on a snowday.

Im english, me and my best m8 (on the 2 days we got snow this year!!! FUCK YES!!!) went out on a hill and built a kicker... it was safe! lol no really it was bollocks and all we did was bust out straight airs with mute and safety grabs all day. Building the jump, swapping our one pair of boots and long straights after every 10 hits and hiking up over and over was truely the best day on snow ive had. Ive shredded waste deep pow in italy (sorry if thats a claim) and hit the parks in breck but those 2 days were the best no doubt.

Its the simple things.

on one friday night i went up to my local hill after school and shredded until midnight. it was really nice and relaxing after a week at a catholic high school

last january it was really cold, like maybe 15 below by about 7 but it was actually snowing pretty good by then so we ended up skiing pow in southern minnesota for like the only time this year at all by just following the liftlines down through the woods. it was epic for minnesota. and that was the night we became nihas.

one day this spring that i went up on a weekday. i was sorta bummed cuz my usual group i go with couldnt make it so i met some random people who pushed me. i learned 3s with grabs and 5s with and without grabs. also my first frontflip. best day ever.

One pow day i was breaking trail on a traverse through the trees, and once i got to where i was gonna drop in i was freakin tired so i rested. While i was chillin there 2 snowboarders came through and were like "hey dude thanks for breaking trail, you want to hit this bowl with us?" so i did a couple times and then i dropped in to perfect fresh knee deep pow. Best exerpience of my life, free weed and perfect skiing. Oh yeah and the rest of the day there was hardly anyone out and i skied fresh all day.

me and my friend built a small backflip jump one day and it was super fun. i got him stoked up to do frontflips too. it definitely tops my list but i cant think of any specific ones right now. probably flat box sessions

When I was in 7th grade I went to Hickory (in NY, also been closed for a couple years) the day after a dump. It was my first day skiing powder and moguls and glades. After all of my days in park, powder, racing, and just skiing after that i still see that day as my favorite

it was one of those first days when there wasnt a park but lots of piles from the snow making machines (one of the few awesome things the midwest has that the west coast doesnt) and we found this one that was a super nice jump with a soft landing and i went upside down for the first time. super fun.

The best day of skiing this year was right after it snowed 7inches in the morning, right before they groomed the park, and they groomed all the fresh snow into the jumps. After skiing pow the whole morning the jump line was still perfect and so dam soft, every landing you just sunk in like 4 inches but could still stomp, or land on ur face and it wouldnt hurt.

For me it was probably that last two weekends of the season, it was really warm so hoodies and t-shirts, the snow was soft and everyone was killing it, plus the park set-up was sick.

i was maybe... 10?probably a foot of pow and me and my dad and his friend just skied the south face of mt spokane all day. not that great now, but at the time it was fucking great!

i was at hood for a race, had my best SL run ever, then went and skied 2 feet of fresh 5 min later. fucking amazing

Oh man this is tricky. I would say this spring when i landed my first front at t line, then went to the skibowl rope tow and learned k feds & switch 2 7s. You just cant beat that feeling of accomplishment. But then again spring break at crystal was pretty sick too.

Any powder day in the past two years. FUCKING LOVE POWDER AND CAPS LOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!11!!!!1!1!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 31st....me, couple buddies that had season passes and those who we convinced to pay 60 bucks for an epic day of skiing. Probably 7 of us, it was gorgous out. We tore up the fresh pow and we got one of our buds to drop a huge cliff which hes never done before. Greatest day ever!

Me an my lil bro were at Bristol early December this year and we had a pow day.

It was lone of the earliest seasons i can remember and the skiing was awesome. There had been about 10 inches of pow over 2 days so there was a good hard base with pow on top, even in the woods. after a while tof shredding the main trails, most of the pow had been skied off so we went on a powder search. It was the best day of skiing,. we were making our way through the woods going out of bounds. At first it sucked because it was not steep at all and it was so damn thick like most NY woods. We stopped for a nice little smoke session and continued on. we were planning on heading back to the main trail but instead we went further into the woods. It was the best decision ever because of the gnarly lines we found. We stumbled upon a steep, clear area with some big trees and a ton of untouched Pow. It was so much fun that i felt i had to yell.

i can't wait to go back and try to find that spot this winter.

March 16 2009, 40 inches at Crystal, lapped exterminator, and hit Northway.... so deep all day, no lines, no crowd, cant beat a Monday on the mountain.

2001 at Snowbird, dropped my first cliff, little 15 footer in the woods off of Mid Gad. First deep day after moving to Utah.

My best day was probably in January when a friend and i went slightly to the left down a kinda BC lift on a pow day and we did not hit any tracks for atleast an hour but this was only 45 feet from the lift

Spring Break this year, I was in Snowbird for the epic huge dump. On one particular day, it snowed an absurd amount overnight, and the snow was particularly light. The official density was 3%. The official measurement was somewhere near four feet, but it felt far deeper.

Now, those of you who have been at snowbird on such a day, know that patrol doesn't open most of the mountain at first. You also know the road gets closed and doesn't always open quickly. Furthermore, you may know that the hotels get put on "interlodge" where you're basically locked in.

I found a way out, not knowing I shouldn't. Took my skis, and spent two blissful hours skiing armpit deep powder with about twelve other people who made it out, and two patrollers. Three people had k2 pontoons. Three of them didn't see their skis except when they were on the lift.

It was the best day ever! Those first two hours of the day were great. Even though Wilbere was the only lift running, I didn't cross another track. There are two cat traverses that cross under the lift, and they made beautiful kickers- provided you followed someone elses track onto them. I was getting face shots, even when in someone elses trail. It took about four runs through one track to make it passable without getting a facefull of snow. Very few takeoffs formed, but those that did were epic.

Then the road opened and they got some lifties onto the mountain, and other lifts began to open. The people count went up from 12 to a few hundred, but the open terrain grew exponentially throughout the day. BEST DAY EVER.

Sparknotes: tons of powder in snowbird, less than 30 peeps on mtn (only one lift running) and two hours of armpits deep fluffy-puff choking hazard.

probably my best day skiing was over my feb break. i was at mount snow and it was like 45 degrees, blue skies and i was soo stoked to be outside, i showed up to work at ski school, got the day free and i was off like a prom dress. i called my boys and we skied carinthia all day and i actaully skied pretty well. so we jibbed the baby park will it got dark then later we went over to my friends where we decided to watch goodbuger and teach my 12 year old brother how to play beer pong with water, red bull and 5 hour energy shots. got home at midnight, crashed like a rock.

It would have to be spring break in mammoth. In there unbound south park, aired 10 feet out of the hip, learned battle ship boxes and was one of three people hitting the big kickers. I also found some nice pow jump/jibs all in the same day.

YES!

Welcome to Goodburger home of the goodburger can i take your order?

Hahaha i watched it yesterday, it is funnier now than it was 12 years ago.

april 4 2009 hands down.

that was the 40 inches in 24 hours day in a week of those dumps, went to the bird, had torso deep snow all day long, hucked my ass off, rode from open to close, celebrated with beers in the parking lot before having a delicious dinner made while we sat in the hot tub at a friend's house up up up the aves. also, it was my birthday.

good day. no, great day.

The best days for me are when I slap on the skins with my boyfriend, our dog, and a friend or two. Spend a couple hours in the woods then spend endless hours lapping steep, untouched, pick you perfect line, powder runs. Before you know it the suns starting to set and it's time to head in for some beer and steaks.
